Adam will answer questions and offer advice for anyone wishing to offer or improve their short form weddings. Member Showcase & Open Forum

In the spirit of community, this casual gathering will focus on you, yes you.  We’d like to use this evening to share any recent projects that you have completed or even something that is in the works.  Therefore, all members are encouraged to participate in order to have the best meeting possible.

Any genre of video is welcome.  We already have advanced notification that Christopher Shepherd will be sharing a video for an organization that sent him to Afghanistan, Kevin McWilliams will share a recent promotional feature he covered for a Houston Chevy event and Rolando Guajardo will be sharing a recent short-form edit from a wedding.

This is the caveat we were up against as kids – our favorite toys always required extra accessories to get the most out of them. The same is true with video production! The HPVA meeting for July will cover just that. All the cool accessories you use in your productions to make them just right.

I’m talking about stabilizers. I’m talking about shoulder supports. I’m talking about lights and monopods. SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT!

July’s meeting is a discussion format and food will be served. Please bring your accessory of choice & your camera if necessary, and tell us a few words about it. You can even bring a DVD containing clips showcasing it’s use.

This months meeting will be an in-depth presentation of a recent corporate production produced by Imagine Videos for North Forest I.S.D. Police Department. The piece was produced by Jackie Gil and production done by Rolando Guajardo and Rob Brayton.

We will discuss the purpose and direction of the piece, production and logistics as well as corporate DSL-R shooting.

Whether you’re focused on event, wedding, documentary or cinematic shooting you won’t want to skip this HPVA meeting! Christopher Shepherd (Christopher Shepherd Films) and Jason Adair (AVS Video & now Belltower Films) will be presenting at the next HPVA meeting. Christopher will be presenting some tips, in cinematography focused on shot composition and details, and breaking apart a recent film, shot by shot (including lense choices for DSLR shooters)! Jason will be showing everyone some amazing time saving tools, techniques, and plugins for recovering crappy footage, and for taking your most amazing shots to the next level. Business tips from Robert Harrington, owner of BellaVista Productions, will also be included in this mind numbing experience! Bring an appetite for cinematography, sales tips, and technical knowledge to this weeks, Houston Professional Videographers Association meeting.
